
Red-winged Blackbird (Agelaius phoeniceus)
A common and abundant species that will breed in marshes, brushy swamps and even hayfields. They will often attack a larger bird that flies over their nesting area. The red shoulder patches of the male are brilliantly displayed when he is singing. They feed mostly on insects including beetles, caterpillars, grasshoppers and others.

Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus)
The emblem bird of the United States and a powerful predator. It often feeds on carrion and steals food from Ospreys and other smaller birds. Its diet consists of mostly fish but will eat other birds, small mammals, turtles, or shellfish.

Osprey (Pandion haliaetus)
A very distinctive fish-hawk often seen flying over the water, hovering and plunging feet-first to catch fish in its talons. Their diet is almost entirely fish 4-12 inches long and the type of fish varies with the region. They have extensive courtship displays and will nest on top of a large tree, utility pole, or cliffs.

Mallard (Anas platyrhynchos)
Mallard ducks are one of the most abundant wild ducks in the world and the ancestor of most strains of domesticated ducks. They forage in water by dabbling, submerging head and neck, up-ending, and foraging on land. Pairs form in the fall and winter and usually have 1 brood per year.
