About the Festival
Riverfest brings more than 30,000 people to the banks of the Cumberland River in an arts and recreation celebration. The 33rd annual festival will be Sept. 9-11 2021. Music, art, family events, and more will fill McGregor Park. Admission and entertainment at the Festival are free and open to the public. More announcements will be made soon, as new events and entertainment are finalized.
Riverfest is Clarksville’s longest-running community festival and brings more than 30,000 people to the banks of the Cumberland River in an arts and recreation celebration. Music, art, family events, and more will fill Liberty Park on Sept. 9, and McGregor Park on Sept. 10-11. Admission and entertainment at the festival are free and open to the public. When and where is Riverfest?
Clarksville’s Riverfest Celebration is the City of Clarksville’s music and fine arts celebration. The festival’s primary location is at the city’s signature RiverWalk at McGregor Park on Riverside Drive and now at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center for the Juried Art Show. The festival is traditionally held in September, the weekend after Labor Day.

riverfest juried art show
The Juried Art Show showcases the work of local professionals, amateurs, and aspiring artists in three divisions: professional, amateur, and youth. Categories are open to all divisions: Photography, Painting (includes acrylic, oil, and watercolor), Drawing, Digital Art, Graphics and Printmaking, 2D and 3D Mixed Media (non-sculptural), Fiber Arts, Animation, 3D Categories: Sculpture, Wood, Ceramic, Glass, Jewelry, and Metalworks.
Local artists are invited to submit entries for the Riverfest Juried Art Show.
Registration: Pre-registration is required. Images of the artwork must be submitted immediately after registering, to email@example.com. For 3D work, please include images of all sides of the piece.

All artwork must be taken home after the Riverfest Juried Art Show on September 9, 2021. No artwork will be left behind unless special arrangements are made.
Professional and Amateur Divisions are open to all artists over the age of 18 residing or currently enrolled in higher education in Middle Tennessee or Southern Kentucky. Local college students are encouraged to submit their work in the Amateur Division. Artists may enter only one division.
Professional: Artist previously juried into several exhibitions and/or presented several solo exhibitions, as well as recognized by peers as a professional.
Amateur: Artist new or not yet skilled in a particular medium and/or creates art primarily as a pastime.
Youth Division: To be eligible, the entrant must be currently enrolled in secondary education (high school) or homeschooled within Clarksville-Montgomery County, TN or Fort Campbell, KY or adjoining counties in Tennessee or Kentucky.
Each artist may submit a maximum of two (2) pieces of artwork.
All pieces must be created within two (2) years of the exhibition. (i.e. No artwork completed before September 9, 2019, is eligible.)
All works submitted must be original in design and concept. Artwork must not be copied, in part or wholly, from any published or copyrighted work. Compositions from published photographs not taken by the artist or images derived from other artists' work are not considered original and are ineligible.
Work previously shown in a Riverfest art exhibition is ineligible.
Please do not submit pieces that would be inappropriate for general audiences.
This is a fully juried art show. Entry does not guarantee inclusion in the public display. Jurors' decisions are final.

Due to storage and display limitations, two-dimensional works may not exceed 40"x40"x4", including framing. The 3D pieces may not exceed 40"x40"x40" or weigh more than 50lbs.
Hanging and Display:
- All artwork must be gallery-ready.
- Framing: 2D pieces must be framed or created on a cleanly finished gallery-wrapped canvas.
- Hardware: All 2D pieces must have double-strand picture wire affixed properly to the rear of the frame. To protect the artwork from damage, no other type of fasteners, hooks, or cord can be accepted.
- 3D Artwork: Must be sturdy enough to be easily handled and transported. Excessively fragile 3D works cannot be accepted.

Riverfest Cardboard Boat Regatta
On your mark…get set…GO!
The Riverfest Cardboard Boat Regatta will be held on September 11, 2021, at 1 p.m. at McGregor Park Boat Ramp on the Cumberland River. Participants will race their boats for 100 yards to compete for the fastest time in each division.
Whether you’re a teacher looking for a fun way to incorporate STEM basics in your curriculum, a leader wanting to find a project to encourage teamwork among your staff, or a group of friends needing an outlet for your outrageous creativity, this is the event you’ve been waiting for. This event is just as much fun to watch as it is to race. So pull together your team, gather the materials for your boat, select your captains, and get ready to race.
